· Troubleshooting process

· Verifying full system functionality and implementing any preventive measures if needed

· Verifying full system functionality confirms that you have solved the original problem and ensures that you have not created another problem while repairing the computer

· VERIFY FULL SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY;

  • Not only should you check that the original problem has been resolved, but you need to make sure that everything else works.

  • Just make sure that everything is working correctly, and the user can perform their duties before you declare the problem resolved.

· IMPLEMENT PREVENTATIVE MEASURES;

  • Once you have resolved the problem, take some time to think about how the root cause could have been prevented. Think about how and why the cause of the problem occurred in the first place. What could be done to stop that from happening? Is there something you could do right now to prevent it from happening again? Perhaps some network documentation needs to be updated or corrected. You may identify a training need to address the cause. Or perhaps some cabling needs to be dressed in better or re-routed.
